Organizations are described as local or grass roots bodies, such as Language Commissions, Public Libraries, Community Museums, etc.
Organization membership is in the name of the entity. Each Organization has a single vote and may run for the At Large Organization member of Council. Employees or volunteers of the organization may also choose to have individual memberships.
Institutions are described as large bodies such as universities and/or their individual departments, government departments or ministries, provincial/territorial/national or international organizations or associations. Academic institutions are encouraged to purchase memberships by departments so the various interest areas and facilities may have representation and participate (e.g. libraries, Indigenous Studies Department, Information Studies Department, etc.).
Each membership has a single vote and may run for the At Large Institutional member of Council. Employees or volunteers of the institution may also choose to have individual memberships.
