Toolkit Resource Developer (Short-term Contract)

The National Indigenous Knowledge and Language Alliance/Alliance nationale des connaissances et des langues autochtones (NIKLA-ANCLA) is seeking a contractor to develop a NIKLA Indigenous Knowledges Toolkit in collaboration with the NIKLA Indigenous Knowledge Standing Committee. The toolkit would consist of: Foundational Documents and Statements, Templates and Guidelines, and Reports and Papers. When the drafting is at the final stages, the incumbent would plan a series of engagement opportunities with relevant audiences.
Responsibilities
Work will take place between mid-April, until May 31, 2025.
● Assemble, compile, and synthesize resources
● Provide short weekly briefing updates to a review committee.
● Re-design content into a toolkit and webpage.
This position is remote and has flexible hours.
Qualifications
● Must be Masters/Phd student in a MLIS/MAS program or a relevant discipline
● Candidates of Indigenous ancestry are preferred
● Must have experience working with Indigenous Peoples (First Nation, Métis, and Inuit) and communities
● Knowledge of and a good understanding of matters related to Indigenous knowledge
● Demonstrated skills in research and community engagement
● Ability to carry out task in an independent manner
● Ability to manage deadlines with minimal supervision
● Knowledge of word processing, other office productivity software, and webpage design
● The successful candidate must have their own access to a computer and the internet
Remuneration
Starting at $35 per hour, this contract is expected to be completed within 120 to 150 hours.
Eligibility Requirement:
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and be able to work independently (such as from a home office).
